SuperString Theory Goes To Senegal - CD

An electric violin-driven world fusion extravaganza written and recorded in Senegal and Vermont featuring African and American musicians. Barou Sall on hoddu (West African banjo) and voice and Pape Sakho on kora (West African harp) and voice were recorded in Senegal at the beautiful coastal retreat of Sobobade along with the amazing Sobobade Drummers. Back in Vermont (thanks to my daughter Sheyna) I met and recorded 3 songs with local Brattleboro, VT high school student and Ethiopian vocalist, Helen Kerlin-Smith, who sings in Amharic. Also featured on the CD are Tony Vacca on balafon, spoken word and percussion, Jo Sallins on bass, Erik Lawrence on flute and Steve Leicach on talking drum.

Touch The Earth - CD

A true labor of love, this CD took Derrik over a year to record, singing and playing 95% of it himself. Other special guests include Tom "T-Bone" Wolk on bass and nylon string guitar, Nebulai on didgeridoo, Johnny Yuma and Sean McLoughlin on drums and the Mighty Simba Horns.

Derrik describes this recording as "a celebration of nature and a call to environmental action." Conceived as a concept album, it's a collection of 13 songs that share an environmental theme, recorded with full band arrangements in a variety of world music styles (reggae, afro-pop, samba, salsa, and funk). It includes some older songs from his days as leader of the well-known southern Vermont-based bands Cayenne and Spunk, plus a number of new tunes and features his passionate 5-string electric violin playing throughout. Cover art by Jill Hoy.

Expecting A Miracle - CD

Produced by Tom "T-Bone" Wolk and Derrik Jordan. Featuring 11 original songs.

"It was a revelation to work with such brilliantly talented musicians on Expecting A Miracle." reflects Derrik. "Tom 'T-Bone' Wolk (bass, acoustic guitar, organ) made the whole process so much fun and still kept everything focused. He's been an integral part of so many gold and platinum records and his ease in the studio and his creative and technical mastery was a joy to behold. Marc Shulman (electric guitarist for Jewel, Suzanne Vega) and Ben Wittman (drums) are both top NY session musicians and their dynamic playing really invigorates the songs. Lorraine Ferro and Tanya Leah (both impressive singer/songwriters) were perfection in the background vocal department. And Teese Gohl (keyboards) added just the right touches on Something Beautiful and Expecting A Miracle".
